Takes about a week to flush the nicotine almost completely out of your system and after that, things should ease off quite a bit.

That said, I still have times when the smell of one will re-awaken the hunger and I find myself thinking that just one couldn't hurt and ...... Luckily that feeling does not last long.

Newt! - you okay?

Tell me about it, i went down the bar before and, although I ain't even mentioned it to anyone, I'm sure they knew, blowing smoke at me and that. And golly, it smelt good!

I ain't goin through this again though, no way. Game over for those things, no matter how hard this gets

Keep going- don't give in to the little monster, eventually he'll die

Soon you will find that the smell of smoke is the most disgusting thing you can imagine- Especially on some one who has just had a fag.

Saying that, I gave up for quite a long time and have recently started again- the disappoinment of starting again is worse than giving up,

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the faith, Awaar. I'm 19 years removed from a two-pack-a-day habit, myself. I loved smoking, but hated what it was doing to me.

then laid in a hospital bed all wired up after a heart attack a big nigerian doctor said to me at 3.30am " you have another fag and your dead" what further motivation do you need never had one since but could still do with one now and then. took about a fortnight for my lungs to clear coughing up alsorts of colours but then felt brilliant could breathe and taste

my mother god bless her gave up for 30 yrs and always said the craving never went away but she never gave in to it

I was a 60 a day man, then found it getting harder to breath. Off to the doc, he said you have asthma keep smoking your gonna die. that was about 18 years ago. For 2 year after i gave up ( cold turkey ) i couldnt smell a thing and everything i ate tasted the same no matter what it was. Now ive given up salt and sauces and everything tastes great again.hang in there mate it will get better and just think how much more money you're going to have to spend on fishing gear. :D

my mind not only wanders-- sometimes it leaves completely.
