have to admit to only riding and never owned a Harley but you forget the one thing we have in abundance which, you are lacking 'over the pond' and that is "CORNERS"

Make that corners and DISTANCES Huge.

Hi all, of all the bike I have owned my current bike sounds good but my mates Norton Combat has to take the prize, it makes the ground shake when it starts up.

Anyone else old enough to remeber the sound of Agostini's MV Augusta?

Yep! I do!!

And the sound of four strokes at scrambles before they became Motocross, (can still smell the "R"!) and watching my uncle race a kart with a bantam/tiger cub engine, and learning to ride on an AJS 500 single, and being prosecuted for making too much noise on my Norton Jubilee.

Now I have a 600 Bandit with scorpion exhaust, sounds dull but doesnt breakdown and got me to Italy and back via the Le Mans 24 hour kart race in the summer!!

Am looking for a decent classic Triumph bonnie/Norton Commando if anyone knows of any!

Buells do indeed sound good. Ducati the best Vee-Twin? I would rather go for an aprilla, powered by a ROTAX engine.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Scotty

You read my mind I was going to add something like have you ever heard a Ducatti or even better a Triumph. :)

Tony

Since when exactly have Triumphs been better than a Ducati. Thishful winking methinks.
