Used to fish that water for many a year until Avington took it over a couple of years back - Shame as my best ever days fishing was on that bit of water (2lb 11oz Roach and 3 dace over 1lb including a pb of 1lb 2oz!) Also had a big head of grayling...

I am a bit nostalgic, and can't afford exotic holidays, so I would go to Redmire. Not necessarily to catch, but to walk in the footsteps of the pioneers and soak up the atmosphere

Good shout, I'd forgotten about Redmire. Plumb's fished there too so let's not start him off again .

Yeah - forgotten about that - makes you wonder why I bothered organising any more - but a I did a couple of Timsbury ones after that! Tried to find the thread of the day. Very windy as I remember - in fact a tree came down in a swim that had just been vacated - could have been very nasty!
