Portland Harbour Friday the 13th!

managed to get out from this new launch site into Portland Harbour for an hours fishing on friday, Free parking, slipway and only a 2 minute haul to the water. There are four parralel reefs that run out from the shore and as it was getting on fro low water, i was able to drift between them fishing with a small surface lure.

Had literally dozens of swirls at the popper, hooked three and landed these two

Its a cracking place to launch but its not for you deepwater lovers. I could have fished all of it in waders, not as much fun though!!!!

Well done Jonnyboy,Thats a nice pair of Bass you caught there.I have fished in Portland Harbour a couple of times with Speciman. We usually go on the South side near the Navy docks and at the South Entrance.

You must have been fishing the North side?I have never seen the reefs before

Yup, right up in the north side, its probably the quickest route out to the breakwater from here, and some nice reefs on the way
