Huge perch

I'll put a pic up tomorrow hopefully.

Any perch over 2lb is a biggie I reckon, and I enjoyed catching those 1.5lbers from the Thames yesterday just as much! Perch are just such exciting fish.

Well done on a double PB session!

Cheers Anderoo, another reason I was pleased was it is a stretch of river that I've always thought looked good but have never had any luck with.

Well done Anderoo. Nice one.

I too caught a reasonable perch yesterday - all of 1lb 6oz. May not be huge, but as a complete novice, immensely satisfying.

I'd sat there all day with only two fish to speak of when I caught it. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to catch anything else at all.

What a bristling, indignant, bad tempered little fish it was too - but an absolute beauty. It came to the net fighting all the way, then sat and glowered at me with that look that only perch have. The markings and colouration were the brightest I'd seen.

I'm sure I'll catch bigger and better fish as I progress, but nothing for me will beat catching a perch.

The biggie is a bit tattier than I remember, but still beautiful!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

cracking fish anders

Jealousy: totally irrational anger directed at people who happen to be richer, prettier, thinner, cleverer and more successful than you are.

Anderoo,

Do you reckon there's any like that in States its the right sort of water, plenty of sliver stuff etc ? That said, the last three days have been really autumnal up here so I reckon the piking session should not be too far off now. Doing propbably my last carp session on Guys this weekend before I take up Yaking for the winter....................................
