Do you reckon there's any like that in States its the right sort of water, plenty of sliver stuff etc ? That said, the last three days have been really autumnal up here so I reckon the piking session should not be too far off now. Doing propbably my last carp session on Guys this weekend before I take up Yaking for the winter....................................

Maybe - there's only one way to find out There's plenty of very small perch in there and apparently plenty of pike too, so they may not get very big as a rule. You're right though, there's certainly enough food for them.

 

It's always worth a bit of investigation - you never know...!

Janet, that's a a nice description of a perch. Dick Walker famously wrote that the perch is the biggest fish of all. Or at least he thinks he is!

Sorry to bump this back up but in my haze I forgot to mention that Goosequill also had several lovely perch topped off with crackers of 2lb 8oz and 3lb 2oz

Another nice thing this weekend was that I caught gudgeon from two different rivers (the stream and the Thames). It's been years since I've seen a gudgeon!

Congrats on some smashing specimen perch. Its great when you just know theres a shoal of big perch somehwere to be caught.

That said, im off to poach your fish now as the pictures have revealed a massive give away.....that blade of grass to the left signals exactly the spot!
