went out and bought £30 worth of lures on sunday Big S, fox bucktail spinner, abu high low jerk bait, some little battery ones that flash when you jerk them and my favorite a 4 jointed herring imitation that they call 4Play from prologic savage

PP1-320.jpg

i bought the perch pattern one and headed off to the canal to test it and see it in action. its the best imitation of a fish ive seen yet straight retrieve is good but as you know you need to jerk it off a bit and on my canal where it is currently next to impossible to get a bite on lures i got 2 hits but never fully connected and this is saying a hell of a lot for my stretch of canal where you can do an all out pike campaign and not catch a thing

just thought id share

Thanks for sharing Andy, could i ask where you brought them mate please.

I I use rubber swimbaits such as the Storm Kickin Minnow

I find that lure to have the most realistic action, however do you think that a lure can look 'too' natural, or at least too healthy? The first time I clipped on of those on and dragged it through the water I thought 'wow' 'just like a real fish swimmin' by' and I gave it a good go, but maybe it looks like one of the millions of small fish in the lake, without an awful lot of 'jerkin an jivin' it doesn't look injured enough to me and maybe not to the Pike either?

Definatelyneeds working to get the best from them Emma.Trouble with a lot of soft plastics is they "look ok" when worked with a pretty straight retrieve.Cons people into thinking that will suffice. As you quite rightly point out the aim of the game is to make them mimic a distressed fish not a healthy one just swimming along!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
