Great "Fishing" TV Programs

I'm old enough to remember the Terry Thomas programs. As I recall he was a fly fisherman and quite a character?

Steve, you haven't been tempted to let a film crew loose at Wingham, venue anonymous? They could have done both the traditional and modern tenching sections of APFA there!

I agree with TonyU about APFA. Beautifully photographed and very cleverly edited but those horrible squeaky voices and the so obvious staged "accidental" meetings on the riverbank, along with the wooden acting. I prefer to watch that Korda bloke Danny

Anyone seen a couple of series fronted by a guy called Darryl Grimason? He is (was?) a BBC reporter in Ireland, and aside from these series (which were very watchable) he' written several angling books which are very easy to read.

Not at all sure of the availability of either series now - one was called 'Coast to Coast' which ran to 10 episodes and dealt broadly with many aspects of (mostly) freshwater angling in various waters across Ireland; the other was a series of 6 programs (Called 'Big Six'!), which followed the pursuit across Irish waters of the bigger stuff - Ferox and big Pike, Conger, Shark, Skate ... and Bluefin Tuna, which was a real eye-opener / stomach churner!

Have never been able to locate either of these series since, but would very much like to, if anyone can locate them?

Philo, I had forgotten about "Coast to Coast". It's been a few years since I have seen it and agree it was very good, odd it went out of my mind as I had fished or visited a number of locations shown on it.

Stephen
