I see that Chesters has been playing with a bit of AN thread necromancy again.

9m+ of floodwater isn't good at all and you have to feel for the folks affected.

Crocs will be very spread out but the risk will be there. Of more concern to most people will be the snakes. Houses are just high ground to a snake in a flood and you don't want to be sharring your perch with a tai-pan or a brownshake.

 

Mate, not heard anything regarding snakes during the floods.

Bloke in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide got bitten by a young brown snake a couple of days ago, he was cleaning leaves out of his pool filter and the snake was in there after the water.

It was latched onto his finger, he drove to hospital but they couldn't find any trace of venom.

There was mention of a bloke who'd killed four in his home in some news article that I read yesterday but a quick look on todays newspaper websites finds this.

Quite understand it that there should be snakes all over due to flooding, but not around our neck of the woods. We average 3 snakes a week in our breezeway from October to March, but so far, not seen one and we have had minor flooding. Not heard it mentioned on the news, radio, or tv.
