Final Week Plans?

Chris Plumb

1 week (and a day) of the river season and last full weekend coming up - what are folks plans? Conditions look like being promising for a stripey hunt this weekend - so I shall be out after them - and plan to have my usually end of season jaunts at the end of next week (perch and chub being particularly in my cross hairs).

What are others planning?

I'm still having trouble mustering up enthusiasm for the rivers despite very good conditions, so I'm not sure yet. I might get out chubbing one evening next week or I may continue to chuck little lures around for perch, which is only producing the odd small fish but is lots of fun :)

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I'll be trying to beat JV44's 6lb chub (if i don't I'll deny writing that), probably the Thames mostly with a couple of Kennet trips thrown in. Haven't been to Barton Court for ages so I'd like to fit that in too. It's actually quite difficult to fish seven consecutive days at different venues with maybe different tactics, getting yourself organised in advance takes a bit of planning.

The week started well today at a new venue on the Thames Lock & Weir permit.....I love fishing weirpools. Two chub to 3lb, a 1lb perch and a few real tiddly chub (about two inches long).

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

It was perfect for an after dark chubbing session yesterday, ideal weather and river in perfect condition. Tackle and bait is on permanent stand-by.

Didn't go!

I don't know where the enthusiasm has gone, but I think I'll spend saturday (some of it, at least) fishing for roach at the Thames. There's a lot of rain forecase between now and then so hopefully it will be roachy.

I can't stop thinking about warm spring days and lounging by pretty crucian and tench pools :)
