Thanks from Charles Rangeley-W? Accidental Angler TV

Recommended Posts

Thoroughly enjoyed last week's programme ,but this one surpassed it ,the scenery was breathtaking I was wishing I was there, although would never have made it up to the lake.I understand its not the normal type of angling programme but in my opinion it was great ,I love travel type programmes,so the fishing was a bonus. The idea that the fish were carried there from Scotland ,shows how the fishing bug can bite ....the determination of the original anglers to go to so much trouble to get the trout there!!! amazing.

You also tried to understand the people and the culture which was really good.

I also think you have a lovely way with the fish showing respect ,allowing them to recover and get "their fizz " back, which is not always the case in fishing programmes.Remote control booked for 8 pm next sunday.

I look forward to your next series. :sun::sun::sun:

Well Charles (may I call you that? :) )

I didn't watch tonightes with the intention of being critical, or to look for faults, but after my comments on the first prog, I have to say "Well done" I found myself smiling all the way through.

Beautifully shot, full of enthusiasm, not just for the fishing, but everything. A pleasure to watch.....Thanks very much, ten out of ten for this one :)

I enjoyed tonights too, although didnt think it was quite as good as the one about the mahseer, but then I'm not a big fan of fly fishing which probably accounts for the bias.

Nice to have you on the forum Charles, and thanks for creating an interesting series to watch.

I watched both programmes and I really enjoyed them, THANK YOU, such a refreshing change from the mundane tripe that is on tv these days.

I didn't think it was as good as the mahseer episode. It wasn't well edited and they missed an opportunity to include at least a little bit about the natural history of the brown trout. I can't work out how they can possibly have been transported all that distance in cooking pots, when you need an aereator to keep livebaits healthy for a few hours. That orchestral music with the Enya-type warbling was bloody awful, although my girlfriend will love those shots of the cats. There was still plenty to enjoy, but I find it hard to believe that they didn't leave out far better footage than some of the driving and interview sequences that were included.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

I thought last nights was better than the first one. maybe because IMO mahseer fishing has been done alot before ( see messers J Wade and J wilson) last nights was like a cross between mainstream with matt hayes and full circle with michael palin, which i think will play better with the general public.
