New fish-in idea

Recommended Posts

Just sounding people out on an idea - how about an AN crucian fish-in next summer? I love crucians and for various reasons haven't fished for them in ages. None of the waters I fish hold them, so it would be really nice to fish somewhere where you're likely to catch a few, big ones hopefully

Can anyone suggest a venue? Is the summer pit available on day tickets? Anyone interested?

Marsh Farm? Infamous for big Crucians and Silver Bream. I'd be oh-so-interested :D

I'm pretty sure March Farm is on the Godalming season ticket - I'll do a search and see what I can find.

Marsh Farm - I'd be interested. A couple of lakes there Richardsons is 'easier' though the Crucians don't get as big. Harris has the big-uns but can be very fickle! (Don't believe either are stocked with silver Bream!)

Summer Pit doesn't do DT's.

From the Godalming website:

Day tickets are available from 7.30 am every day and should be purchased from the on site shop.

Juniors, O.A.P and concessions - £3 for one rod and £5 for two rods

Adults - £5 for one rod and £7 for two rods

Hooray!

Summer Pit is season ticket only - ah, Chris beat me to it!

OK Marsh Farm looks like a goer - if anyone's interested, leave a reply and we'll see if there are enough to make it worthwhile.

Has anyone fished Marsh Farm? If so, it would be useful if you could advise on the maximum number of people we should take.

An alternative would be Milton lake at bury hill, they don't go quite as big as marsh farm, but it's a very prolific venue. I'm pretty sure it can be booked on a day basis too.

the lakes are clearly pegged out, Harris, the one with the biggest crucians has 46 pegs.

Yup - fished it a couple of times. Once last June and once this. Plenty of pegs over the 2 lakes - I've been mid-week both times and it wasn't particularly busy either trip. IIRC both lakes have circa 50 pegs each.
