Well pump them up again ,put extensions on the valves to the outside and adjust as required or use water

It could be fun pumping one end up higher so the beasts think theyre going over the edge of the world

hm,interesting. it bonds to surfaces though does it not ?

might be a problem if the pond needs to come out at some point. something to think about though

Smear surfaces in linseed oil/Vaseline etc to ease that problem and bear in mind a little squirt of the stuff expands a awfull lot

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

If you use expanding foam, just make sure that no bits are left exposed. I don't think it would do your terrapins much good if they ate it. Any idea how old they are Andy?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Kids paddle pool ?

The would probably rip holes in it. Terrapins have sharp claws and very sharp mouth parts. If they managed to swallow aany bits that got ripped off you would have an axpensive vet's bill or dead terrapins. Edited by corydoras

something like image above is the goal.

Imagine this next pic as support for the pond though im wanting to cover in plywood and fill to give the pond rigidity. This 'support box' wont be seen.

Why not use a plastic header (cold water) tank. These stay up in the attic with no support for years, and they come in lots of sizes. They will survive the claws too.

Build box place pond in it fill cavity with building foam ?

Was going to say that at first, then remembered that that foam is quite hazardous to aquatic life, then the Vaseline comment came up and thought about that but not 100% reliable, thought about cling film on the bottom to set a mould but again, perhaps, over thinking.

If costings are thought through, and the ponds are stackable, set one in a reinforced box and fill the spaces between the supports with expanding foam and then place a second per formed pond into the first, easily removed and less risk of chemical leeching perhaps.

Otherwise build a mould from wood and form a one piece unit from food grade fibreglass without the risk of styrene leeching, expensive as a one of but you might start a craze which will earn you millions!
