AN Fish- in River Test

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the delay in this but due to a change in circumstances and the fact I need to save up for a new clutch for the chuck wagon, I will not be able to fish at Timsbury. I will let you know nearer the time if I can join you all as I did last year at the end of the day. Sorry Tony for not letting you know sooner. I will fill you in later when I have more time.

At least Andy & Rog can go in my place.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

I've tried to pm you for the payment details but for some reason it won't let me use the message feature. Is this because I'm a new member?

In a word - yep.... Once you've passed the 15 post limit, all functions will be available to you :)

Hi all,

Can you both fly and trot at this venue, and are waders allowed.

Rog

Yes, you can fly fish as well as using any other coarse fishing method (swim-feeder is good if river is up and coloured).

Wading is prohibited.

I’m hoping to find one of those famous roach. Could anyone suggest tactics, so I can decide which gear to bring?

I’m planning on doing some trotting with a match rod and centrepin reel, with 3lb line and a big stick float and bread flake on the hook over a bit of mash, with some maggots if that fails. Does that sound reasonable enough (depending on conditions, of course)?

What's interesting is that, though anglers are rarely surprised by a totally grim day, we nearly always maintain our optimism. We understand pessimism because our dreams are sometimes dented by the blows of fate, but always our hope returns, like a primrose after a hard winter. ~ C. Yates.
