Morning,

Just thought I'd give you south coast fells's a bit of hot news, know a fair few of you fish XChurch Ledge area, was out on a charter yesterday and witnessed the capture of a 24lb Cod, something a little bit special for our area I'm sure you'll agree.

Will post a quick report on the sea forum, but before the news filters through the normal channels, remember where you heard it first

I think Richi, Darnsarf, Speciman and Simon W were thinking about the ledge yesterday....

I bet they opted for the flounder bashing instead and are kicking themselves :P

Thanks for the heads up Scotty.

I won't be getting out till after chrimbo now but will put the ledge/bay area back on the list for this winter. Was also wanting to put some hours in over Southbourne Rough - haven't heard any reports from there but that is supposed to produce a few cod :)

This week will be a good time to be on the water what with the predicted settled weather. Bigger tides near the weekend though (not good for the offshore yak fisher).

Nice one Simon,

Wasn't overly pleasent on the ledge yesterday mate, blew a bit harder than they said it would. Think 3 cod we're reported yesterday between the half dozen or so boats out, but ours by far the biggest.

Two trawlers have been working the ledge and surrounding ground for the past two days, pretty much non stop  , we managed one solitary whiting yesterday between 8 rods, loads of jumbo pout and doggies, think we were anchored over a kennel! ;)

Hope fully heading out next Saturday, last trip of 2006 I expect.

Whoa, cracking fish. I am now convinced that a trip there should be at the top of my list.

If only everyday was a Sunday, then I'd have time for all these places I want to fish.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.
