I nipped down to the tackle shop and picked up some bits and pieces today. Will need to do another trip for bait and anything else that emerges as I sort my gear out.

After spending much time sorting out and cleaning the cooking and camping stuff, and organising tackle boxes and tying hooklengths, I'm now approaching being almost ready.

Wingham will mark the beginning of this year's session fishing for me. After the fish in, I'll be making a start on those crucians :)

Good luck to everyone who going to the Wingham fish ins this weekend as I am afraid won't able to make it due to moving out of my house!

I will look forward to the catch report.

Spent 4 hours this morning sorting out and tidying up my gear, and I'm still not ready!

did find a bottle of boilie dip with some boilies still floating in it, last time I recall using that flavour was early last summer - will 10 month soaked boilies be any good :)

As long as they're not crumbling when you put the needle through them I would think they'd be fine. I use glugged boilies on the Thames from one year to the next and the bream still love them.

Best of luck to all those going to the fish in, spare me a thought whilst I'm revising in my room.

I feel the same Mat, this is by far the most unprepared I have been for a fishin. I'm currently between properties so all my stuff is crammed into a storage locker including all my fishing gear. I spent 3 hours digging through boxes last night trying to find bits of tackle but I know I will forget something :-(.

Oh well as long as I can get a line into Wingham I'll be happy. Oh crap, that reminds me, I need to replace the line on my reels :-(
