Who, or what is QD and does Southend really need another tackleshop?

QD is better known to anglers as 'Lathams of Potter Heigham' - We have a Lathams in the QD at Basildon and the prices are very reasonable on a lot of items.............only problem is that there's nowhere close by for free parking - not a problem for me as I only live 5 minute walk away.

COOL! I gonna have to check it out, I take your local to Southend? I live on Canvey. Canvey has a pretty good tackle shop now, its huge, and loads of gear... Aladins cave springs into mind...

Not sure when they will start selling tackle as there has to be a refit in the store first.

Judging by the way the "one in the middle of town" is being run by the new owner I don't think it will be open much longer, Over the last month I have been in a few times for lead clips and been told they will have some in a few days. They do have 30 pots of lazy lug in the fridge and some crap chinese air rifles under the counter to componsate though

I only go in there because it's handy in town and the old boy in there is alright. I think i'l stick to jettys from now on.
