I did go to my local army surplus store (where I got the last one) but they've got hardly anything in at the moment, and nothing that ticks all the boxes.

For me the crash zips are a must to be able to get out quick in the event of a run as well as being warm. also being able to secure the bag to the bed chair I think is important.

I never got in mine ,the best one i had was an american mountain one (1944 and stunk as it was feather it couldnt be washed in the bath!) i just left the zip open and it was warm as toast.

My camping ones are the same and used more like a duvet ,struggling with zips is the last thing i want to do fishing or camping ,it rarely gets cold in the winter anyway here minus 8 was the coldest i can remember

 

The worst thing is condensation as i have a single skin bivvy (remember the gardener pop up bivvy?) but in our canvas tent its unknown as its breathable
