Nope

Was it a fish ?

The reason I ask is because I went spinning in the local canal the other day and on my second cast I hooked into something big!

It didn't put much of a fight up just sort of eased it in. Ayway as i moved it off the bottom and it came through the clouds of mud I realised it was a plastic patio chair!!!!!

I landed it on a mepps, and 6lb daiwa sensor line which I thought was quite a feat.

Oxford...Thames...flood...worm.

I would go for Tench as well

The prize goes to Terrytshirt and Dogfish, why did you guess that guys? I've had tench before in the Thames but never in winter! I thought it was the mother of all perch for quite a while.

Runners up:

Barry C I doubt flounder get this far up!

Ajay good guess but not a roach

Chavender I've seen plenty of carp and even seen them spawn yards from the swim in question but have never caught one (from the Thames).

Ken L not a burbot (has anyone here ever seen one?)

Elton Not an eel (i've never seen or caught an eel from the Thames near Oxford)

Mark Barrett no a bream or a zander (again never seen or caught a zander in the Thames near Oxford)

Not a duck either Ferret
