Shore fishing in Madeira

Recommended Posts

I'm going to Funchal for a week in October and looking at pictures of the place it appears to look promising for a bit of rock/jetty fishing.

Does anyone have any tips on tackle/bait and also what species to expect?

Thanks in advance

As Madeira is part of Portugal you will find that there is a license requirement to fish off the shoreline and they do police it quite strictly confiscation of tackle and a stiff fine is not a good plan on holiday so check before you fish
