Problems writing emails on Thunderbird

Sportsman

Recommended Posts

This is a weird one.

I have been using Thunderbird for emails for years with no problem. Today I have found that if I try to write an email or copy some text from Word to an email, instead of the text stopping at the right hand side, it just carries on as if there is no edge to the page. This reduces 8 lines of text into one long one with no line breaks.

I haven't changed any settings that I am aware of.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Dave

Simplest way is download "moz backup" save and reinstall thunderbird. then try before you import your saved mails and settings back ,if its fine its not thunderbird as is ,if its not fine after you reimport your stuff its your stuff doing it

Thanks for the advice both of you.

Got fed up with Firefox so I am now using a program called eM client. Seems to be working great and very easy set up.

Can I ask what you use for emails

Thanks again

I use thunderbird on the pc ,bluemail on the android tablet (i hate android things) and the playbooks inbuilt mail dooda whatever that is

I use chrome as my browser on the android as it seems to use a different version of youtube which actually works

My sister uses something or other which besides mail has moving things and news etc ,i find it distracting ,i like minimal stuff especially on my superfast 1mb (yes bt considers the village is now superfast) broadband

Just to add

I switched my emails to a program called eM client.

It is excellent in every way so if you are looking to change for any reason I can recommend them.

I have been using Thunderbird for several years, and haven't come across the same issue as you have encountered Dave.

However, I have just managed to reproduce the same problem ! Having a look around various forums it appears to be a long-standing issue with Thunderbird !
