The Drones are coming!

I'd give vagabond some credit for telling me quite early in my fishing years that on many waters 90% of the food is within 6 foot of the bank so that's where the fish will often be. Coarse or fly I think thinking about that has served me well.

I know you will know better Dave, but I do think we should tell some of the newer anglers that all the fish aren't always as far as you can cast (or that bit further) and bigger rods, reels, weights, baitboats or even a drone, often won't help.

I agree entirely Brian, I do 80% of my fishing these days within 4' of the near side bank. The problem is that some of the lakes I fish require you to be within 4' of the far side bank. Easy with a bait boat, not so easy with a rod. How easy does it need to be?

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

I bet anyone fishing from the far bank would want to get within 4' of your bank though Dave.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

All,

Humm - that's exactly what the spear fishermen said when the rod and reel was introduced. Then the "fishfinder" critics - then the fake corn critics - then the - - - -wait - are you bored? Me too

Phone

Isn't that combining two sports for F U N ??

Edit: What are the EA regulations on the number of drones you can have in the water at one time??

Skill or cheatings got nothing to do with it just listen to the thing its completely anti social where fishing is concerned. How i would love to cast a cheap mono right over the top of it.

And he aint the first to fish with a remote control heli there was a vid here at least 4 years ago of a single rotor heli fishing. Ok hes using a quadcopter kinda the same thing, twonk.

Anglers who can chuck a helli rig 100 yards mean nothing to me and anglers who cant do it but are in ore of an angler doing it knows nothing at all about fishing although i bet they think they do as its all for show as a good angler can find all he needs within 60 yards max by just exploring the complete topography. I have had my best fish really close to the bank especially at night and especially if its a commercial fishery.

Its not rocket science ( mind you that science is quite easy) to know that fish will travel from swim to swim after all anglers have packed up and will come in anyway even on the hardest waters.

As for the drone i think it may have a future in recon for perhaps fishery owners and not for fisherman.

if I take my shotgun down to the lakes I guess it would give me some target practice when the fishing is a bit slow! :)

I see it more for a 'Black Widow' and marbles, more stealthy!
