Google calculator is really very nifty

About 680 litres, so at least 680kg (or 0.67 tons) of fresh water. More with the weight of the glass, rocks and salt.

50 kg coral sand.

50 kg Ocean rock.

The tank it's self.

(3x72x24)+(2x24x24) x3/8'=?x weight of glass???????

About a ton then? :D

No salt, fresh water set up...............that'll save a few quids. :)

Good news.

Was chatting to neighbours downstairs earlier about their ceiling and my tank coming through.

Jean tells me her ceiling is concrete panels and wooden floor above to my place.

She saw them build.

That put my mind at rest.

Now where did I see that 8 foot tank. :)

Well we struggled like mad getting the tank up in to the flat but got there in the end.

Just one little chip on the top at the back so not bad considering the weight, the concrete stairs and a pair of skinny chaps doing the lifting.

Mind you my lad Nick did put his back in to it and I'd never had done it without him.

He's turning out to be a nice lad again since he split for his last girlfriend.

Nick is nearly six foot so gives you an idea of tank size. :headhurt:

Bit bigger than my community tank eh?

New(second hand) background ready to fit.

Fibre glass construction, hand made and finished off to perfection.

These backgrounds cost nearly £500 for a 6 foot tank.

I didn't pay that though.;)

Very good quality, you would have a job to spot it from real rock. :)

Bl**dy hell that tank is huge!! Any ideas what you will be putting in there when you get it running??

I'm really getting in to this now. I didn't think it would be so addictive but I can't keep out of my local aquatics centre just incase I miss something. I brought myself a gold nugget plec the other day. Not seen much of him since his introduction but then he is only 2" long. Next on the hit list is a Zebra plec I think, thats if I can find one.

Good luck with the setup.
