I must go down to the sea again

To the lonely sea and sky

I left my shoes and socks there

I wonder if they're dry?

Launched from Christchurch Harbour. I do a bit of that cycling stuff, except for a dodgy knee at the moment. Guess it's old age catching up.

It was a long paddle, but I can't lie, I didn't quite make it home.

The return journey was going well until about half way back. I felt like I was going nowhere fast, the G.P.S. was telling me that I was moving in the right direction but slowly. I made the decision that I wanted to be home for tea so I landed at the west side of Barton On Sea and got the wife to collect me. It cost me a chinese take away but it was worth it.

I reckon I covered about about 14 miles allowing for detours.
