The Angling Trust has stepped up the pressure to see the long overdue introduction of a 42cm minimum conservation reference size (MCRS) for both recreational and commercial bass fishing in order to allow the fish an opportunity to spawn successfully before harvesting. The present stock crisis is very much due to overfishing on the spawning grounds as well as a minimum size which allows fishing for juvenile bass before they had the chance to spawn.

Any facts of u k bass depletions and have TAT asked the rsa if they want restrictions imposed on rsa, I think not to both questions as TAT do not consult rsa, nor do they have any rsa reps on their books in any event. A problem engineered by TAT so they can fix it to their own wants and needs. Nothing to do with the stock what so ever. all they are doing is encouraging discard. What about michell commenting, bet at best he has caught one or two bass in total through out his fishing life. Yet he speaks with experience and knowledge. Again without any facts or foundation to TAT's claim the stock is falling off a cliff edge. Anyone asked for the rsa to be represented by the EAA?Bonkers.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
