Fly fishing?

hi all

 

i have just been given a 10 ft abu fly rod,rated 7/8? and a shakespear zenith reel.

 

what coarse species could i target with this?

 

pike? carp? chub? any ideas chaps?

i have never fly fished before either!

Dace and chub are very partial to a fly. Would try a dry fly if an evening rise comes on and stick to wet fly/nymphs for the rest of the time.

 

Perch can be good fun on the fly,try the normal rainbow lures for them eg dognobblers and sticklefry

 

Pike- still to try it myself Ratty.Try a search on the fly fishing forum. Fly fishing for pike has been well covered on there
