A evenings tinkering...

With the rivers soon to be opening for course fishing I doubt i'll be doing much still water fishing this summer so I had a session tench fishing last night. The venue is a seldom fished and off the beaten track type of water where the fish have thrived on neglect...as they do. I had a session on this water recently and caught a few perch up to around 3lb, some rudd to 2lb plus and chunky eels but no tench. Last night my luck changed and I had some perch to just over a pound a few small rudd but some lovely tinca's to 6 1/2 lb that made the effort worth while....

Cracking tench there mate, I wish I knew a seldom fished water like that.

Me too, they've all gone from around here.

Nice catch Ian, and as usual good honest photos.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
