Excellent choice and will be a good outfit for cleaner ground marks. If you are looking to fish anything heavier then go for the Slosh 30 and maybe an RT Axcellerator 13' 6" 4 to 8oz rod. They are around the same price tag.

Best thing to do is go to a few of the big boys and ask for best deals.

:clap2: A short while ago the Sand storm was on special at £99.99 for the 13ft version and slosh 20's and 30's were about £69.99. That's an absolute bargain for that combo. :clap2:

Good choice, however at the moment i would look at the Greys GRX-S for £99.00 and Abu Mag Elites for £69.99, I have always had a Sandstorm and was very impressed with it, but changed to the Greys GRX-S to compare and have to admit the Greys just takes the edge (bare in mind i can have whatever rod i want) and will always suggest Abu 6500 above Daiwa, mainly due to the service and availability of parts as well as never having any problems with them.

:clap2: Quite agree about the ABU 6500's, can't comment on the Grey's but the SL20/30SH is a great rough ground and boat reel with a great clutch and gears. I've had mine for over 10 years without any problems but for clean ground and distance you can't beat the ABU. Horses for courses to use a well known phrase. :clap2:

hi mate why not try abu 6500 sports mag quality fishing and looking reels they really pack a punch you can get these if you look for under £100 each and rods i use abu conolon xodus 13ft 4-8oz this rod comes with an added 1foot reducer to make a 14ft rod these rods have power and the tip is quite light so you can even see an tiny bite like rockling. these rods rrp for arround £169 but the tackle shops will sell them arround £100 each if you buy 2. i use this gear i love it ,it all works so well togeather and it all looks the dogs balls.

hope this helps good fishing

brought a 13ft sandstorm couple years ago really liked it very easy to get on with especially as this was the first rod i used a multiplier with, which was also a slosh 20. Now got 2 slosh 20's plus a new slosh 20shv and two 30shv's. cant fault the reels but most of my fishing is done on mixed to rough ground as well as congering which is why i dont use the sandstorm or the daiwa supercast i have and choose two greys apollos. in saying that my best eel of 31lb i caught on the sandstorm even if it was bent double it still coped. the new shv's do run fast than the old slosh's and i tend to get better distances with the new ones but really they are more of a rough grond reel. if you don't mind buyying secondhand then let me know as both the sandstorm and 1 slosh 20 is only siting round doning nothing.

Cheers for the tips fellas, its really apreacited  , i was looking to go for the slosh because Plymouth and Yorkshire where i used to fish has plenty of rough areas, hense going slightly heaver, I used to used a 6HM for shore fishing and an Abu 7000 for the hevier stuff.

I dont want to spend an absolute fortune as it will only be used a now and then, but it would be nice ot get kitted, so i can get out and do a bit when in plymouth or up in yorkshire.

alderney mullet Cheers for the offer mate, second hand is fine mate, as long as there not knackerd  How much are you asking? and if you have any other bits you dont use anymore just let me know.

Kind regards

Jack

willl jack both the rod and reel are what i'd class as in a good to average condition for a year or so's use the rod is is in good condition with nothing more than scratches on it as you'd expect from fishing on the rocks i've fitted a fuji reel seat up the butt to replace those horrible coasters. But had to cut the orgrinal yellow shrink tube off to fit the new reel seat on the rod now has blue shrink tube. The reel again just has scrathes and scuffs on side plates and has been stripped down twice, once a year as all my reels to be oiled and greased works and casts a treat almost full of penn 18lb line. Was thinking of £90 for the two if thats any good to you? I don't think you be disapointed with them at all. can send a pic if you need one.

sorry forgot to and that i've a daiwa supercast 13ft power multiplier model as well same condition as the sandstorm but with original shrink tube and new fuji seat which is more suited to rougher gound and is a lighter slim rod. but would want £75 pound for this one or £ 110 with the slosh. Haven't alot else spare apart from a shimano aerlex fixed spool in brillant condition and a shaskespeare odessa power match rod for mulleting.
