What won't catch-more like :D .Pretty well anything at some time or another will score.

Possibly Damsel in one form or another,Cats Whiskers,Buzzers,PTN's and Hares Ear could well be at the top of many peoples lists for rainbows.

For rainbow trout in small waters (such as fisheries, small lakes/lochs) I tend to find that the Montana Nymph and Yellow Dancer Lure are very successful. The Bibbio and Clan Chief are also good flies in my experience. I have heard of some people having success with Daddy's as well as Diawl Bach. But with Rainbow Trout, as far as I am aware, any fly is good on it's day!!

Try Pheasant Tail nymphs size 14 or even 16 if you can get them, also ones with goldheads are good.Bloodworm pattern's are killer's too fished with slow or quick short pulls.Buzzer's are worth a try if fish are showing and any terrestrials ant's, beetle's, Daddy's, Black Gnat's.:D Just realised the time stamp back in May  Oh well

For rainbows an orange dog knobbler or damsel nymph. For brownies a pheasant tailed nymph, orange partridge or black spider.
