Anyone after ratchet straps??? Wilkinsons are doing them for £2.99 1" by 5 m

Plus has anyone else noticed what a good fit those Ikea blue bags are for the Tesco crate and they have a press stud fastening too.

do not use ratchet straps on your kayak you will put a dent in it

I must go down to the sea again

To the lonely sea and sky

I left my shoes and socks there

I wonder if they're dry?

Got to disagree there YD. I've used ratchet straps for the last couple of years and left the yak on the car for a couple of weeks at a time.

I put a bit of cloth under the actual ratchet and tighten it up just enough so the kayak won't move.

If it's going to be a hot day then i'll slacken them off whilst the cars parked up but no dents yet.

Thanks for the tip off Muzzi, been looking for a new set.

Ouch!! I thought everyone had forgotten the hero of the O'Neil days... had izzetafox as e-mail addy for 10 years now. Those were the days ( my friend, we thought they'd never end ...) and look at us now.

I use the straps with pipe insulation and am always careful to have just enough tension to be safe.

You are better off with cam straps than ratchet straps - and they won't eventually rust solid either!
