i have always bought at the cheap end or second hand in the middle range and despite using the same rod and reel since the mid 70's the both still do EXACTLY the same as they did the first time i used them.

why buy "top end" when i havent worn out the old stuff yet ,my rodpod still supports rods and is probably 20 years old and my bivvy whilst almost as old does what it did the first time i used it.

yes you can buy top notch this years graphics stuff but it doesent do anything different to mine ,its not bought to impress the fish they dont give a crap what tackle you use.

if the tackle in the first post is all you can afford then buy it and if your sniggered at by the ******* with fox on everything ignore it and quietly think how much they laid out to get that higher than thou attitude ,its pointless bankrupting yourself to buy equality with those with such a low outlook on life they have to copy to fit in.

and PS still never broke a rod yet

Go on admit it,you would love them reely !!!

You won't be catching cod or bass at your local carp lake :headhurt:

However know what you mean, when you see the local lads turn up at a 1 1/2 acre lake with Daiwa Basia's the size of 50 gallon oil drums to fish the margins.

You could try ebay, always loads of carp gear going on it, and if you are patient and don't get carried away with your bidding there is always a chance of picking up something cheap.

I am always putting in low bids on items, I don't win very often. But have picked up some good bargins.

Stephen
