Hey, neon tetras, angel fish, those stripy cat fish shark things that I can't remember the name of. My dad's tank wast mostly what you would call an 'Amazon' type tank. Soft water was easy for us as we had access to an unlimited supply of nice soft peaty water. He had a pair of Egyptian Mouthbreeders (at least I think that's what they were called, I am sure they were a ciclid, It's 40 years ago now) that breed just fine in the same tank as the kribs and angel fish.

 

He also had a fairly big (about 30 gall) tank that he had a big pair of tinfoil barbs in it. I used to love feeding them chopped up earthworm and guppies. They would go apesh!t if you tipped a bag of daphnia into the tank.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
