England..a couple of lighthearted observations

Recommended Posts

just got back from a weeks holiday to england.

just like to put down a few observations i made, as to how things appears to me........good and bad.

firstly, how green and beautiful much of the countryside was, even along the sides of the M1, M25,M4 and M5.

How bad are the motorway services!! dreadful dumps some(not all)

How expensive everthing is......how a lot of people say "thank you"for the slightest thing.

How cold it was....people walking around in shorts and t.shirts.when i had thick jumpers on!

How much junk mail appeared under my parents letterbox every morning.

how many people were involved in recycling stuff.

Truly dreadful "newspapers"

People were generally very friendly. But so many drunken youngsters....

All in all though.....i enjoyed my week.....nice to visit you lot!!

you didnt mention the litter ,the rest is fairly truthfull well all but the recycling bit ,i spotted some in the car park to the pond a whole tipper full "recycled" into a pile and set on fire.

all the hype about motorways destroying habitat but actually making green corridors untouched by humans for wildlife to flourish ,some very nice bits of country side now theve cottoned on to using native trees exist unseen as we drive along them (railways the same).

think how those drunks could save money if we had drink at non british prices ;)

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

French is an easier language to learn. Just my two bits worth.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

why wait for retirement?

it used to be the case that people"retired to spain, portugal or france" etc.But i saw in a newspaper the other day that the average age of the british immigrant to spain(male) was just over 40 years, with a wife and a couple of kids.

people are coming to start a new life at an earlier age now it seems. B)

Im only 21 and already can't wait to get out of here. Big OZ for mr though. Then you dont have to learn any language. LOL

No, mate, it's just that we have a hard time deciphering your language......"know wo' I mean?" ;):whistling: :whistling:

Truthfully, though; well done for choosing Australia, plenty of sunshine and work, and cheaper living; better beer, women and fishing.
