Catching Arctic Char

Some of the char in Windermere come into relatively shallow water in the spring and used to get hammered by coarse anglers fishing with legered maggots. A change to the local bylaws banned the use of maggots until June (I think) and this stopped the slaughter. The 10 mph speed limit which comes into force just after Easter means that the lake will be quieter and safer to fish - I will be trying for char there in May ( they are a bit on the thin side earlier than that.).

has any one tride wastwater for char people say thers none in their but belive me their is and the ferox bigest i had was 11 lb on a trolled minkie
