Tiger worms

Assuming you mean brandlings - the stripey ones that smell of cabbage that you get in compost bins - some people swear by them, and others think they're more or less useless. I fall into the latter category. There was a thread on here recently about how to tell a redworm from a brandling from a dendrobaena, and their respective value as bait, so it might be worth doing a search for it.

Thanks. Saw an advert for them locally but didn't realise they were brandlings.

The best time to fish is when you have a chance.

If you mean brandlings I wouldn't touch them, I used to dig them on my grandads middin(cow sh*t) and only ever caught Perch and very few of them.

Brown Trout absolutely love them but I'm not sure that they have long enough to let them pass by, in a moving river or stream, so they could be wolfing them down automatically. It might be that fish in stillwaters have long enough to have a taste at them, before rejecting them due to the repellent yellow liquid they exude.

Are dendrobenas just another name for Brandlings.

No! If you refer to the recent thread mentioned in my post (2nd in this thread), that gives you all the info you need (including the scientific names).
