Bit hit and miss with me at the moment one minute its passable the next its frustratingly slow. Most times i post it goes to a "could not connect to site" bt oddly the message gets posted (after a 3 minute wait) and usually results in a double post.

I'm guessing it's just not being maintained. Elton has other irons in the fire, and there's only a handful of us using the site.

i have to wonder if its only a handful of us still here because its not working properly and willing to put up with the issues.

You and i both know theres not much to maintaining a website, Steve. What can you do except clear database overheads which im sure is on a cron job at 1am daily.

Given the ad revenue generated from all our content i dont think its much to ask for an explanation or even a hello from time to time.

I'm still here :)

Other priorities in life, unfortunately, but the articles side of the site is being rebuilt and I'll try to take a look at the forums shortly. The server should not be a problem, but obviously is - it costs me a fortune and this is the only site on it. Once the main site is sorted, i'll look at moving everything to somewhere quicker.

Depends on the underlying architecture - I've had situations in the past where a stored procedure has been taking minutes to run, dropping and recreating it gets it back to less than a second. Also potentially issues with index maintenance. You just need someone keeping an eye on these things.

From my quick glance earlier, it seems that the database is HUGE because of the eBay imports. I'm pruning those now. It'll take a while, but should help. We'll see :)

The site was down earlier this evening. Whatever has been done seems to have speeded everything up rather dramatically.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
