Set off at 4 am from Glossop. Arrived Pwllheli 7am. met up with two members who had a good night out, stopping at B&B.

Dave Carey skipper welcomed us on board at 8am.

Trolled a silver spinner out of harbour but no bass.

Two hours steaming to wreck,

Fished pirks and feathers, shads and jelly worms on drifts over wreck.

Pirk accounted for good coalie 5lb.and one pollack 6lb.

Jelly worms seemed the order of the day and 45 pollack between 5 lb and 9lb were taken by 9 of us fishing.

Two pouting were also caught on the pirk and at slack water (15 mins) used as conger bait. No joy!!!!

Kettle was on the boil all day with tea and coffee always ready.

Weather was sunny and dead calm. Great :clap2:

Arrived back at marina at 6pm.

Great fish and chips at the town centre.

Puncture and flat spare tyre delayed arrival at my home local until 12pm.

But had a great day out.

Next Pwllheli trip Black bream fishing 15 July

Will be taking loads of boiled rice for ground bait.

Makesure your tyres are pumped up Ivan on the next trip then...so what depth of water are you fishing in for the Black Bream to use Rice for ground bait...I suppose it not your mate from the local Chinese that gives you the rice, try using a spring roll they hold the ground bait like a boilie bag and they melt very slowly, but otherwise are you ok

Not too deep because I float fished for them last year.

I think the rice may have brought them up.

They where caught at all depths though.

Dave Carey the skipper introduced us to using the boiled rice and I get mine from the local pub

The Bulls Head which is also a curry house.

Normal ground baiting methods apply " Little but often"

I am keeping well and am looking forward to a 92 hour trip on Monday from Whitby on the Chieftain

I will attempt to do a report, with photos this time.

Yes I am checking all my tyres this time. :schmoll:

Since the 94 hr trip cancelled I have decided to fish inshore at the Whitby festival on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Any tips for a deepsea stranger coming inshore?
