Three years on the trot May/June has been very wet and windy and all three years we have had an early spring followed with a hot spell before this crap sets in.

A bit of a pattern setting up.

Andrew the small tides are in our favour but they are now on the up i think inside of 5 miles will be a wipe out for a week or so it looks like it might be a wall job for a couple of days but we will never know till we get to sea i know all my lads who are with me in the festival are all buzzing it looks like it will be radio silence for a couple of weeks.

A bit to far for my little boat paul, just come off beach been down to ravenscar on my quad wind fell away now. nice down there good for jet had four pound last two days.

you should be down there with your rod nice swell coming in and beach is cleaner than would be expected.was a tad worried about my pots but they are still there where i left them, swell should fall over night should get out thursday for damage check.

Andrew dont mention jet on here you will soon need a licence to collect it and you will be limited to 2 peices a day.

Things have certainly changed in recent years.

When i moved up to Scotland in 1988 all the trees had a 45% lean away from the prevailing SW winds.

Now we seem to get a week of stiff Easterlies followed by a period of stiff NW's The settled spell of days with high pressure just doesn't seem to happy through the summer. It certainly makes running small boats more difficult.

I guess this has something to do with global warming and will only get worse

I did not like to mention that aspect  I keep a daily log of weather/sales for nearly five years and although the trend was not so obvious five years ago there is a set pattern forming now.

Just hope it breaks the mould for this weekends charter out of Bury Port on Panther, early start 6am due to tides.

Paul wish i had a licence to fly one, then when the weather was bad i could shoot off to a warmer climate where the sun always shines and the water is clear blue.

Just up off beach swell is droping nice breeze from west lets hope we get a spell of settled weather for next week or two.

Any tips for your anglers for festival,

Andy just had the dogs down on the beach and the swell is still big i should be at sea tommorow so i will soon find the sp ive got a gut feeling this sea has done a bit of damage regarding the water clarity the swell is still heavy but till we get to sea we wont know i think i will be starting at 10 mile tommorow we have has some really quality fish on the ground there just recently no cod over 20lb but a lot over 10lb some bonny fish and plenty of them bait fishing might play a big part in the festival it usually does.
