If a slider is ice cream between two wafers, then it's what we call in our part of the world simply a wafer.

The fringy hair over the eyes is 'bangs'. The word is still in common use over here.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Chris - you and John had it easy because of the hints on here about the US words.

I am still completely clueless about some of them.

in our part of the world, a wafer is what you receive in church during communion services. or there's also the vanilla wafer (cookie/bisquit)

i havent heard slider being said darn sarf but its well known in scotland ,two wafers (on good days one is fluffy nougat covered in chocolate and sprinkled in coconut) with a slab of icecream in between ,modern air filled icecream cant be used it must be a block.

We just called them wafers 'darn sarf'. Never heard the expression at all.
