Now that I can just about cut a clip about, which one of the programmes mentioned above would be best for me to be able to whack a logo in the corner of any clip?

I bet there's a better way of doing it with something else, but here's how you do it with Movie Maker:

First, set up a custom title like this:

 

1. Go to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\shared\AddOnTFX

2. Create a new text document. Paste the following text into it and change the filename to "mytitles.xml"

3. Create a logo with a transparent background and save it as a .png file in:

 

C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\shared\logo.png

 

You have now set up a custom title with your logo on it. You don't have to repeat this bit for any new movies. Next:

 

4. Open Movie Maker (close it and restart it if it's already running)

 

5. Go to Tools / Titles & Credits.

 

6. Click "Add Title On Selected Clip"

 

7. Enter some text, just a space if you don't want anything, but more likely the AN url.

 

8. Click "Change the title animation"

 

9. Under "Titles, One Line" find "My Logo", select it, click "Done, add title to movie"

 

10. Finally, at the bottom of the timeline, stretch "Title Overlay" to run for the whole clip.
