My daughter has just lost her virginity.

That got your attention!

My daughter Marie caught her first :fish: a common carp, weighing 'somewhere between 3kg and 4kg'. She forgot her scales and camera too, so no pictures this time.

She is off to fish some carp hole for a couple of weeks and has promised photos if she catches something.

Bravo Marie :clap2: :clap2:

Well Done to Marie, lets hope it's the first of many on her trip.

It's always the same when you get your best catch, there's no one around or you forgot your camera

Unfortunately for you, you don't know me or my daughter, but we both have a wicked sense of humour. She thinks I'm the bestest Dad in the World, and so does my son. What others think of us does not concern us.

I was amazed she caught it at all. This is the scene (I was not there).

Buzzer goes off at 04:00 in the morning. Marie is as normal, not exactly what you would call prepared. Can't find headlamp so can't find landing net, or unhooking mat, or scales. Eventually manages to get fish to bank and unhooks it in the margins. She has promised me she will 'try' and be a bit more prepared for the next one. 3-4kg not bad for a first fish though. Dad is real proud. Bravo! Encore, Marie.

IMHO I think it's nice that a father can be comfortable with winding/having a bit of fun at/with there 16 child :-), I know when I was 16 I was a nightmare for my parents to live with. Although I was a bit worried about reading the thread, but I thought I should because I'm sure it would actually be about fishing.

Thanks for that. I don't actually live with my kids, they live in France with my ex

and although strictly speaking we have shared parental rights under French law, finances dictate that I don't get to see the two of them as much as I would like too. When I told her what I was thinking about posting she was rolling about on the floor laughing at the thought. The age of consent in France is 15, ever since she turned 15 she has been teasing me that she is 'now legal'. Fortunately she has her head screwed on the right way my Marie, her Baccalauréat is the most important thing in her life at the moment, then its her flute, then its her new hobby, :fishing:. Boys, unfortunately for them come way down the list.

Dang - wish I were 18 again so I could again know everything about how others should behave along with a large number of other important tidbits I knew then but have obviously forgotten now.

I have sad news for you Simon - when you have teenage children, you will find that your IQ has dropped an amazing amount.
