Mind you, we visited Tewkesbury for the first time in my life during our exploration of the River Severn last month. I had never seen such a concentration of charity shops !

 

...and the tackle shop was closed ("because it's Thursday") Chugged north up the river and spent money in Upton instead.

Most shops especially charity (strange how charity doesnt start at home in the prices) dont need your money ,if they did they would open at 8am and close at 6pm when the workers are passing ,if they did this half the congestion in towns at dinner time would be gone.

The prices are astronomical in farnham ,£149 quid for some worn out settee is a fine example ,add to that 30 odd quid the government pays on top ,zero business rates ,most of the staff are free as is most of the goods ,rip off merchants

One in town now has 3 shops and according to the old ladies who run a charity shop next door want to rent their shop to expand (trying to coerce the owner to favour them but luckily he supports the old ladies) the other shops look like antique shops with prices to match and their other shop is warehouse sized with prices to match
