KVH Precautions

Mat Hillman

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I Inadvertently fished a lake that is infected with KVH today :(

Is laying my net/mat etc out in the garden on a sunny day to fully dry good enough or do I need to apply some sort of disinfectant to them?

There was an EA sign on the gate, but as it looked just the same at the common "You need a licence" one I didn't fully read it upon arrival :(

Mat,

KHV was identified in 1998, toward the end of my serious involvement. You need a product with "Glutaraldehyde". Most laundry fabric softeners are glutaraldehyde. Alcohol is not far down the list. I'm not sure what type virus KHV is but Snuggle will get it.
