If you're planning on using it abroad in European countries I'd go for the 700 series with pre-loaded maps. Cheaper in the long run to buying add on maps later, otherwise the One XL is just as good.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

oh yeah one other thing thats not mentioned is that to purchase a new map of the uk you will defo need a larger sd card, for some reason they hit you with a tiny card and must be a tiny map aswel, need atleast 512mb they give the 128mb ones which holds only the preinstalled map and updates

Hiya Andy,

i think tomtom are still leading, not sure why though but did notice they are bringing out some sort of service or new system called map share, basicly users update the maps so they are more up to date with road changes.

I've got Mapshare running on mine, I get updates to the maps every time I connect the unit to the PC. I've had three sets of updates today alone.

Comet are expensive compared to this:

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.
