I'm looking for any information on the coarse clubs/founding mmembers/coarse fishing from the early 60's in Co Durham and Northumberland.

A friend who has recently retired is trying to write up the history of coarse fishing/clubs in Co Durham and Northumberland. He was at Newcastle University in the early 60's just when coarse fishing was getting a foothold in the region. Later he fished in the very early North York's - South Durham Winter League matches with the Carlisle lads if anyone was involved with those. (must have been keen to travel from the NW to fish the Swale/Tees)

Probably a long-shot, but any information would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Tight Lines,

Wearyone

I was there when fishing first started at Killingworth (Killie) Lake in the 1960's with people like Rob Steel, Lawrence (Florrie) Hunter and Hammie Hamilton. Franticfisherman was also around at this time as well.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.
