Theres also a picture here for those that wish to be impressed or disgusted:

I think hes 20 yrs behind the times though, and rather than being hung drawn and quartered for landing the first porbeagle shark in Wick in 2007, i'd suggest he would have been better to have slaughtered many in Cornwall in 1977, then retreated north with his winnings so he could instruct the next Mr Mackay in what was expected of him :)

Good on him;.

Lets hope him and Sandtiger get together to try and work out whats in their best interests as Charter baot skippers up there, and they don't listen to the angry hum coming from the colony insects :D

MikeC, lots of options really. Don't know the full story here, the first question i have is he commercial or rsa. If he is rsa then that is a heck of a lot of fish to stuff in your freezer or give to your mates. The only other things that could be done with it is stuff it and put it on a wall somewhere or give it away to some commercial guy without any financial gain, fish for the boat, or lastly do a bit of back door selling. If he is commercial, then the other shark sent to market this week got about 50p a kilo. Worth every penny don't you think.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Its a charter boat with a good reputation by all accounts.

I Emailed him when I saw the picture to express my feelings. the reply I got indicated that he took the fish as it was his first and he would be releasing future fish.

The topic is discussed in the sea fishing section under a post by Sandtiger.

Cheers

The only problem i would have with that is if the fish was wasted. It's also good to hear what his intentions are for the future. I hooked one about six weeks ago, first one ever, however unfortunatly i did not get it to the boat for a look see, it would have been released in the water as my freezer ain't big enough.
