topless mittens for cold anglers?

I wear fingerless gloves like many, but I came back from fishing yesterday with my fingers absolutely frozen. Then I wondered into the model railway club in our church hall bemoaning my frozen digits, and someone said someone he knew had mittens where the top folds back so you can use your fingers when you need to. Struck me it could be useful for ledgering. I could hold the rod perfectly well with a mitt, as long as i could flip the end back to reveal fingers and thumb when I needed to rebait up etc.

 

Has anyone used these? Do you know who sells them? I was told Damart, but they don't seem to be on their website.

I know 'Thinsulate' do some but they're not that good quality. I stick with my 'Gul' thin fingerless Neoprene's for my Grayling fishing in this cold clear weather we currently have here in W. Yorks. The trick is to wet them to get them to warm up.

I have used the Neoprene gloves with the thumb, indexfinger and middle finger flip backs. These have proven to be Very useful. I would reccomend them to anyone that is fishing or hunting for ease of use. I would think that the mitten version with the complete fold back would also be Great.

Try your local army surplus shop, or even Millets etc, I've had a few pairs of these, and found them useful.

I use the same sort, they have a spot of velcro to hold the flaps back out of the way until you put them back over your fingers. I think Ron Tompson do some decent ones.

There only cheap(at most a tenner) and are available in nearly all tackle shops or online.

The gloves you are looking for are Cormoran Fishing Team astro thermal neopren/fleece gloves.

 

They are the warmest gloves I have ever had!
