And if you like blood letting Pike and Predators is worth a glance!

I think this must be a feature of 'single species' forums - BFW - especially during the close season and the Carp boards on CEMEX can be explosive at times!

Anglers net over the years has provided the best most intellegent and diverse opinions and has kept me very engaged. The only other forum i use is Essex fishing .co.uk as it is a more intimate forum being locally based. But for real depth and breadth you can't beat AN.

take a look at my blog

being a bit of a tinternet tramp i do wonder from site to site ,I don't think there could be A best fishing forum as each gives something different and appeal to different people in different ways .but saying that some forums are better than others and thats down too the team behind it and its hardcore user's because they're the ones who give it the essential feel of the place. And AN definatley feels right .

although my currant favourite is Anglerstalk well it would be i built it ,mostley for the core members of the Anglingtimes forum after the implosion that was the gofshng site.

but An still is at the top of my list of favourite sites :

Anglerstalk <<<well it is mine

Anglers net

total-fishing <<<< i moderate on here

maggotdrowners

Just checked my favourites list and the only sites I visit or use the forums regularly on are (in aproximate order) -

Anglers Net Allready given my reasons.

PAC Forum Excellent Pike forum and a lot of my mates are members.

Fishing Magic (dont go there so much now but used to write an awfull lot of articles for

Graham in the early days) tend to agree with Peters comments.

Uncut Fishing A good all round "local" site that my brother administers.Growing fast.

LPAA web site. A good all round "local" site that my brother administers.Starting to struggle.

I think Eltons comments on what makes a good website are correct as well.Ive met people/attended fish ins from all the above sites to.

Also the coments re Pike and Predaters are also right.I just stopped going on there as it seemed to be a pretty miserable place! anyone who was "known" was either automaticly slagged or had their backsides licked! Small group of guys who had "elected" themselves to "moderater" positions and didnt like anyone posting anything that they didnt agree with! Stuff em! Even the proper mods didnt seem to be able to curb them.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

In my opinion I think this is the best one

As an all rounder who's as happy catching big pike to fishing for specimen dace I like to think I have an interest in all species and can quite easily go from catching perch one day to chub or grayling the next so although I'm a member of a national club (PAC) I don't feel the need to use or register for that forum

There are enough folk on here who can provide everyone with tips or hints that we can use and adapt to suit our own fishing styles without getting bogged down in single issue boards

As a member of other forums I think that this one has a more balanced feel to it and thats a reflection on its members and on the way its moderated

I used to moderate on a site that gradually degenerated into what was fast approaching an unnoficial mouthpiece for BNP supporters and football hooligans.

The final straw was when one of the moderators posted "hilarious" photos of a poisson chat that he had stamped on in France, so that its spines were embedded in his boot. I won't name the site in question though, because when I last looked they seem to have cleaned their act up to some extent.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

I think this forum is by far the best, its a kind of little house on the prairie to pike and predators judas priest?. Lots of friendly people who aren,t shy when it comes to sharing their knowledge. P and P was good a long time ago but as you say the moderators couldn,t give a monkeys nowadays so its full of keyboard hardmen and bumlickers :P I also like fishing magic.. :D

as a reasonably regular visitor I would say that whilst I like the lay out of the site I actually think that its a tad over moderated in my opinion.

Fishing is very much a sport of opinions and opinionated people, and whilst I do agree that the P and P forum probably does go overboard at times, at least it does leave room for debate. i just think that at times this site is a bit too staid and twee.

But then as I said its a sport of opinions and I am sure that to many my opinion is at variances to their own.
