Snow

Quite a bit of the damm stuff in Northumberland. It was a bit dicey driving in for early shift this morning as the gritters had not been out. When I left work (Morpeth) at 2pm this afternoon there was about 3" lying.

When I got back to Whitley Bay on the coast the snow was not lying at all - praise the lord!!!

Expecting quite a bit to be dumped on us overnight though :(

We drove over from Sellindge (east Kent) to Cranbrook (mid Kent) during the middle of the day. We had light snow for several hours that settled only on a few roofs and ploughed fields. It's now turned to drizzle and the forecast is for temperatures to warm up tonight.

Its NEVER too cold for snow. But thats often said in this country because high pressure normally means colder air and high or no cloud, so no snow. Check out the Polar regions, snows at sub zero temperatures :whistling:

Huh, that old excuse, eh? :D

Nothing here in Suffolk. I was looking forward to showing the kids what snow looked like, too.

And CERTAINLY none in sunny France!!! Well we got shot of ours by sending it NORTH to a little island somewhere t'other side of the channel!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Have you fished the Nidd or any of the reservoirs? I'm just up the road from you. Loads of places to go around Ripon.

Not fished since I've been here, I'm about 1/2 a mile from the Wharfe and walk the banks from time to time but never fish it. Keep meaning to, but snapped my Avon rod moving house, so I need to sort a replacement out before I can.
