I've no idea how much this video cost to make. It may well of course pay for itself by increasing licence sales.

 

It seems that the EA are in a no win situation. If they spend money on enforcement they get criticised for being wasteful. If they don't spend the money they get criticised for doing nothing.

Thing is though Steve its not "enforcing" they are doing with the vidio.Its a bit like the Police saying we must not mug old ladies on a TV add but not bothering (or being able to afford to after spending the money on the add) to go ouit and catch the muggers!

 

It strikes me as "being seen" to do something rather than actually doing it. People sat watching stuff on their computer arnt the problem its the people out on the bank without a Rod Licence who are.

 

Its another example of poor use of our money in my oppinion.

If they had actually shown some real anglers getting arrested and having their gear confiscated, it might work but fantastical nonsense that has no actual bearing anywhere in reality isn't going to scare anyone. What does that teach us? Are bailiffs going to scuba-dive the broad to check for permits....not likely and everyone knows it. People might like a bit of fantasy in their lives but when it comes to the law, the only way to demonstrate it's efficiency is to show the reality of the situation, not a man in a suit with a theme-tune.

They obviously wasnt after carp, All a bit far fetch and a waste of time to me. They could of made something a little more as it is.
